1) Gapyeong Ananti Chord The House Room
๐ An hour and a half from Seoul
From Seoul, it took about an hour and a half to get to Ananti Chord in Gapyeong. Check-in is available from 2:00 PM, and check-out is by 11:00 AM. Instead of driving our own car, we took a taxi, dropped our bags at the lobby, and checked in. We asked the front desk for help, and they even picked us up with a golf cart to take us to our room.
Tip before heading to Ananti ๐ก
There are no cooking facilities inside Ananti Chord, so we highly recommend grocery shopping nearby before you arrive! We bought ready-to-eat meals like sushi and sweet and sour chicken in advance, which meant we could feast to our hearts' content right after swimming ๐ฝ
๐ก Ananti Chord The House Room Tour
Ananti Chord The House Room consists of standalone private villas. There are a total of 8 individual villas located just a short walk down a forest trail from the main complex. Since each unit is positioned independently, it's perfectly set up for families to enjoy a private getaway! Though we didn't bring cars, each room allows up to 3 parking spots.
As soon as you open the grand entrance door... there's an elevator..!! Have you ever seen an elevator inside a hotel room? ๐ The House Room is a detached house where you can go up and down floors using an indoor elevator. The layout requires you to take the stairs or the elevator down to the first floor to reach the living room. The moment we walked in, it completely felt like we were visiting a super high-end resort!! ๐ง
The living room is a very spacious area featuring a communal table, a sofa, and a TV, making it perfect for chatting or gathering around to eat together! (The living room and bedrooms are so huge that, if we really wanted to, maybe all Delighters could crash here.. โญ๏ธ) We were so thrilled upon arrival that we were busy snapping photos all over the place!
Ananti Photo Spot Recommendation #1: Stairs next to the elevator ๐ท
Did you come with family, friends, or a significant other? If so, we recommend taking pictures on the stairs leading down from the second floor to the first. You can sit one person per step for a group shot, or if you're a couple, it's a great photo spot where you could even stage a wedding-style photoshoot ๐๐
Looking outside from the living room, a terrace connects to the window area, offering a panoramic floor-to-ceiling view where the mountains fill your sight. Each The House Room villa has its own private outdoor pool, meaning you can fully enjoy yourselves without even leaving the room! We didn't end up using the private pool because we went to the Water House and the main outdoor pool, but it seemed like a wonderful place to spend time together if visiting with kids or family.
๐ก Room usage tips
- You can request extra bedding and towels at the front desk. We had five people staying in a four-person room, so we added extra bedding and also asked for plenty of extra towels after our swim!
- Eco-friendly shampoo, conditioner, and body wash soap bars are provided as amenities, but toothbrushes and toothpaste are not included, so we recommend bringing your own! (They are available for purchase in the minibar.)
- If your room is far from the lobby building and there are golf carts available, you can get a cart pickup from your room to the lobby. If you have a lot of luggage, it's worth calling the front desk to ask.
- Tableware including plates, cups, and wine glasses are stocked in the minibar, so you can easily use them without needing to pack disposables.
The Ananti Chord The House Room (Standard) layout features 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms located on opposite sides of the living room! Each individual room comes with an incredibly huge, palace-like bathroom equipped with a bathtub, so if you're someone who enjoys taking a half-bath, you can fully indulge right inside your accommodation. ๐
Ananti Photo Spot Recommendation #2: On the bed๐
With a bed like this, you have to lie down and get at least one photo of a lifetime. Try taking your own solo shot on the bed! You might just create a masterpiece.. โจ
๐ณ Maximizing the Ananti Water Course (Water House, Outdoor Pool)
First, we headed to the pool. You get Water House tickets matching the number of guests, so you can use it for free. The water isn't too deep, so even if you can't swim, you can still have a blast! ๐ There's also a separate toddlers-only pool, which looked great for families visiting with children.
If you head toward the locker rooms, there's an outdoor open-air bath. Melting into the warm water after a swim made us feel so wonderfully relaxed in no time. The outdoor pool isn't huge, but with the mountains right in front of you, it felt like being completely immersed in nature. ๐
๐ Pool usage tips
- During your stay, the Ananti Water House can be used for free once per night for up to the room's maximum occupancy. (Time limit: 3 hours)
- The Water House is open from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM! (Break time from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM)
- The locker room is stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash for after your swim, making it very convenient to use.
๐ฝ Tips for eating and playing 10x harder
Since we went swimming right after arriving and unpacking, we were absolutely starving by the time we finished. So, we had dinner the second we got out of the pool! You can order room service at Ananti Chord, but thanks to buying ready-to-eat food ahead of time, we were able to enjoy an even more massive feast!
Especially since cooking isn't allowed at Ananti, we highly recommend bringing ready-to-eat meals or cup noodles! There's really nothing like cup noodles after a swim..๐ท
In the evening, we had a wild night playing the board games we brought along. For those visiting Ananti with friends or family, we strongly suggest packing some board games! The level of immersion was so intense we couldn't stop playing... We gamed so hard for over an hour after dinner that we completely passed out for the night ๐ฃ
๐ก Other facilities (Salon de Eternal Journey Cafe, Gym)
Salon de Eternal Journey is a brunch cafe located inside Gapyeong Ananti Chord! We stopped by for a quick breakfast after checking out in the morning before heading out. The bread is baked fresh in-store every day, which probably explains why it was so delicious! Their cheese bread is especially famous, so we bought some to share! ๐ฅ
It was a short trip, but it was a time where we could completely refresh by laughing and relaxing together! Instead of talking about work, we chatted about this and that and fully healed during our overnight stay. Thanks to this, we came back fully recharged with energy. And of course, we got even closer as a team!
2) Hannam-dong Riverhill Spa
๐ฟ A healing spot on the hills of Hannam-dong
Riverhill Spa Wellness Center is located inside UN Village in Hannam-dong, sitting between Hannam Station and Oksu Station. It's a bit of a distance from the subway, so we recommend driving or taking a taxi. Parking is available in front of the building.
๐ Interior atmosphere โ a quiet and private space
When you walk inside, there's a cozy lounge area. While waiting briefly, you fill out a simple questionnaire about any areas of discomfort while sipping warm tea. I booked the Riverhill Relax (90-minute body + 30-minute lounge access) program, which included a full-body massage and lounge access afterward โ๏ธ
After drinking tea and filling out the quick survey, they recommend an aroma oil scent suited to your current body condition. They mentioned that depending on your stress levels or physical state, the scent you're drawn to will vary! I picked the one that appealed to me the most, and that was the aroma oil used for my massage that day. โจ
๐โโ๏ธ Private spa massage
For the spa massage, you are guided to an individual room. I loved that it was a room with a single bed where I could receive the treatment completely privately. Once you're ready, the massage therapist comes in and starts by loosening up your body with a foot massage. Getting a foot massage in warm water made me feel incredibly relaxed right off the bat. After that, the professional therapist worked out the tension in my entire body during the full-body massage course, and by the end, it felt like all my accumulated fatigue had completely melted away.
After the treatment, there is a separate wash area set up, and it was so nice to have a space for a light shower! Usually, your hair gets pretty messy after a massage, so this would be super convenient for anyone who needs to wash up and get ready for plans afterward. (Shower supplies, lotion, and even a Dyson hair dryer are all provided!)
๐๏ธ In the lounge overlooking the Han River
When the massage is over, they guide you to a lounge overlooking the Han River. They served a simple yogurt bowl, some refreshments, and tea. (The tea came in a warm teapot so you could keep refilling it.) Chilling in a premium lounge with a Han River view while enjoying snacks made me feel like all my pent-up exhaustion was completely wiped away ๐ต
Experiencing the Ananti voucher and Riverhill Spa ticket firsthand, we were able to spend time not just resting, but truly relaxing our bodies and minds and recharging together as a team!
