The Best Perks According to DelightRoom ๐
At DelightRoom, we have an organizational culture that says, "The best perk is having top-tier, outstanding colleagues in the industry."
Because of this, we're actively running a variety of perk programs like the ones below, which we believe are necessary for our outstanding members to create synergy and produce the best results.
Word of DelightRoom's generous perks must have gotten around(!), as an article was recently published introducing us as the ultimate boss of employee perks. ๐
But DelightRoom is a growing organization.
To support the next level of growth for our endlessly growing Delighters, DelightRoom's perks system must grow alongside them. That's why DelightRoom is constantly observing, frequently syncing, and deeply pondering how to run and improve our perksโfiguring out exactly what is needed to provide an environment where members can fully immerse themselves in their work and feel even more motivated. ๐ค
You could call it custom DelightRoom perks! Even for a single perk, we try things out, make improvements, and build up our lessons learned so that DelightRoom's DNA and core values can seamlessly blend in~!
What is the most needed perk right now from the perspective of both DelightRoom and Delighters, which provider of this perk service is the best fit for us, how can we most effectively operate this service internally, etc.โas a result of this fierce deliberation, let me introduce three perks that were improved and added in the second half of 2022 ๐ค
Here's what changed, ๐
Expanded and Revamped Growth Support Fund
We expanded and revamped our growth support fund systemโwhich could previously be used across any field, whether for work skills, exercise, or anything else that helped a Delighter's growthโso it can now be utilized even more broadly and diversely.
What changed is that previously, Delighters could only receive the growth support fund quarterly and only if they applied for it, but after the revamp, an annual growth support fund of 1.5 million won is provided to all Delighters. It was open for anyone to apply freely, but we improved it so that all Delighters who have passed their probation can receive the same growth support benefitsโsolving issues like missing the application window due to a busy daily routine or having a hard time figuring out exactly what the growth support fund could be used for.
Now, the cumbersome application, approval, and receipt proof processes have been eliminated, so Delighters can freely utilize it whenever and wherever they need it. There's no longer any need to submit proof documents for where it was used, either. Since all Delighters are growth-oriented characters, we trust that they'll use it well for their own growth on their own!
On-site Posture Correction Therapy
When you spend a lot of time every day focusing on work at your desk or in meetings, issues like tech neck, straight neck, lower back pain, and swelling tend to tag along like constant companions. (Go away...) To alleviate this discomfort as much as possible and help everyone work comfortably in their best condition, DelightRoom provides standing desks to all members by default. On top of that, we were doing our best to protect Delighters' precious joints(?) by also offering monitor arms, laptop stands, keyboards, vertical mice, and trackpads according to individual needs. Furthermore, the massage chair in the healing room played a big part in relieving joints and muscles throughout the day.
But these are merely preventative measures; since chronic pain is already so close to us, it was quite common for people to squeeze in time to visit a nearby clinic for manual therapy.
What if we could have them receive manual therapy at the company to resolve the time and hassle of going out for it????
Driven by this question and a desire to provide more fundamental help, DelightRoom finally introduced on-site posture correction therapy!
Every Tuesday and Thursday, a professional correction therapist visits DelightRoom, sets up aroma candles, soothing music, and a massage bed inside the healing room where the massage chair is located, and waits for Delighters. When they meet with Delighters, they diagnose each person's physical condition and conduct therapy for about 20 to 40 minutes.
Now, Delighters don't have to go out of their way to find a clinic for manual therapy, and can comfortably receive the most appropriate correction therapy for their individual physical condition right in the office. ๐
Lunch Buffet Service
DelightRoom has been supporting breakfast every morning with sandwiches, fruits, kimbap, etc., and providing unlimited snacks fully stocked with only the things Delighters love. We were also running various lunch support programs like Collabo Days, Study Lunches, Team Lunches, and Welcome Lunches, but on regular days without any events, people would usually eat lunch either internally or at an outside restaurant, in small groups or individually.
Also, for Delighters who wanted a quick bite inside, we stocked up on as much variety as possible with retort foods like cup noodles and cup rice, as well as chicken breasts, porridge, and cereal. But as a company truly dedicated to wellness, DelightRoom wanted to feed our precious Delighters warm, healthy meals...! We figured that if the service we operate pursues wellness, the Delighters who build that service should also be able to enjoy wellness.
However, since this service initially required a guaranteed minimum headcount of 25 diners, it was somewhat difficult for a small and elite team like DelightRoom to adopt it right away. At the time, DelightRoom's headcount fell just slightly short of the minimum number of diners, and we also had to account for the proportion of work-from-home days or outside meetings. We had no choice but to adjust our timing while waiting for our member count to grow a bit more, try out a Grab & Go format as a stepping stone, and spend several months in talks with the service provider before we were finally able to... introduce a delicious and healthy lunch buffet service! ๐
Now, warm and high-quality food prepared freshly each day by professional chefs is set up in the Morning Lounge (DelightRoom's communal dining area) right on time for DelightRoom's lunch hour every single day. The menu changes daily, and on special occasions like Christmas or Seollal (Lunar New Year), we even get treats like cookies and jellies or special meals like tteokguk (rice cake soup). ๐ท
As Koreans say, "Rice gives you power!" Because this service fulfills such a crucial element of our daily lives, it offers various advantages beyond simply being delicious. For example...

DelightRoom's P&C group conducts a biannual survey to measure member satisfaction regarding the overall quality of P&C services, including our perks. In the P&C satisfaction survey conducted in December 2022, among various perks, our newly introduced 'Lunch Buffet Service' took first place out of 42 items! (I knew eating was the most important thing ๐)
It has surpassed the primary goal of introducing this serviceโ'to gift Delighters with health and joy by providing high-quality, delicious lunches!'โby bringing various unexpected advantages and effects, which is why the Morning Lounge is still buzzing with tasty chatter and conversations today.
๐ฅฐ Namely, the joy of Delighters being together!
Previously, when we were split into a crew that ate simply inside, a crew that ate out, and a solo dining crew(?), the people you ate with tended to stay the same. Now, since we all mix at one table regardless of group or squad, everyone is really feeling a sharp increase in closeness as we naturally share more life updates.
Moreover, there were times when we wanted to eat something delicious outside but felt burdened by the travel and waiting times, but now, without having to wait in the office, we can chat and eat slowly and still have at least 30 minutes left over, so more people are enjoying that time together by playing ping-pong, hitting the gym, or having tea time.
Our Growth Will Continue!
In reality, because DelightRoom pursues an elite level of talent density, our team size is naturally on the smaller side, which means there are many things to consider whenever we introduce a perk service. We're putting in a lot of effort by constantly thinking about what is most needed and helpful for DelightRoom and Delighters right now, customizing things as much as possible for the perfect fit when introducing them to DelightRoom, and continuously monitoring and making improvements based on feedback even after the service is rolled out so Delighters can utilize them with higher satisfaction.
As DelightRoom is a company operating a service responsible for the morning wellness of people all over the world, we consider the wellness of the Delighters who build that service to be extremely important, too.
