Proving Value Through Sales Revenue with Full-Cycle Ad Tech Experience — Business Developer

Hello! Please introduce yourself briefly.

Hello. I'm Eungil Cho, going by the nickname 'Goodway' here at DelightRoom. I'm a Business Developer in the DARO squad, mainly handling DARO's sales.

I'm someone who values having fun at work. I love an environment where we can smile and collaborate together, and I try my best to create that kind of vibe.

How would you define yourself in one sentence, or what is your life motto?

"Work always gets done one way or another!"

I first stepped into this industry through sales, and to me, sales doesn't just stop at closing a deal. My role extends to managing retention so it stays high after the contract is signed. Throughout that process, big and small issues pop up, and there are so many things to work through with our partners. To be honest, it was sometimes scary when we didn't hit the promised numbers.

But as those experiences piled up and I leveled up my skills, I realized that everything eventually gets resolved one way or another. Rather than feeling anxious, I try to approach things with the mindset of finishing them as well as possible. The longer the sales cycle, the more unpredictable variables are bound to arise, and going through those situations naturally shaped this mindset.

What kind of experiences did you have before joining DelightRoom?

I started my career in sales at Cauly, a Korean ad network, and later worked as a partnership manager at TikTok and Adjust, an MMP company. From there, I naturally found my way to DelightRoom, having steadily built my career across the ad tech industry.

Since you've continuously built your career in the ad tech industry, what made you decide to join DelightRoom?

Being in ad tech naturally gave me a lot of touchpoints with people in the app business. Among them, there wasn't a single person who didn't know Alarmy. It wasn't something you had to study to learn; it was just a presence you naturally became aware of by being in the industry. It was common knowledge that DelightRoom was the absolute frontrunner when it came to global alarm app monetization.

Around that time, DelightRoom launched a new service called DARO, and I learned that it was already generating incredible revenue despite having just launched. Up until then, I had built my career mainly on the demand side—ad networks, large platforms like TikTok, and MMPs. I figured if I added supply-side monetization experience here, I'd get to experience the entire ad tech cycle. It felt like a really solid move for my career trajectory.

Add to that my desire to work at a company with a consistent upward trajectory, and after much thought, I decided to jump on board.

Can you share an experience where you felt you grew the most at DelightRoom?

The biggest thing was finally getting to learn ad monetization properly. Honestly, before joining, I was only scratching the surface of this area. At DelightRoom, I got to see and experience firsthand every week how to approach monetization technically and operationally, what strategic directions to take, and what experiments to run. Every single piece was a new discovery and a learning experience. Best of all, because I was working daily with people who had been directly monetizing their own app, I was in an environment where I naturally couldn't help but learn, even without trying too hard. That was really fun and rewarding.

What are you focusing on the most these days?

DARO delivered fantastic results last year. So this year, we're focusing on expansion—helping global publishers, not just domestic ones, with their monetization. We even have a U.S. business trip planned for May, and I'm really looking forward to seeing if the methods that worked so well in Korea can be rolled out globally.

What is your goal for DARO this year?

Revenue growth is the core goal. For 2026, we're aiming for nearly 4x growth compared to the previous year. We're speeding up our global expansion to hit that target. Even though DelightRoom is already a well-established company, you can really feel its fast-paced culture while working here.

What is a goal you want to achieve at DelightRoom?

When I accepted the offer, my personal goal was to contribute to DARO's revenue growth. I actually shared this ambition during my final interview when I heard they were hiring their first dedicated sales person. I boldly told them, "You need to hire someone like me who has a track record of sales success to replicate those results." I wanted to keep that promise, and I've been continuously moving in that direction since joining.

Also, as I integrated into the company, I naturally developed another goal: global expansion. I already strongly believed we needed to go global, and the existing teammates shared that exact mindset, so we formed a consensus very quickly. We're now in the full-scale execution phase, and my personal wish is to succeed globally just as we did domestically.

Please share generously what you'd like to brag about regarding our company!

I was amazed at how many genuinely great presenters there are here. In my previous companies, I planned industry events, stood as a speaker, and even acted as an MC or panel moderator. It's surprisingly hard to find people who are good at presenting in front of others. Not many people volunteer to do it, either.

But here, right when you join, you start with a self-PR presentation called 'How to Use Me'. Watching those, I thought to myself, "Wow, they are really good at this." Presenting well requires a variety of skills, and so many people here strike that perfect balance. Whether they're an engineer or a non-engineer, regardless of their role, everyone has a solid ability to communicate their thoughts clearly, which is definitely something worth bragging about. That also means communication during meetings is much easier and smoother.

Lastly, do you have any final words for anyone considering applying to DelightRoom?

DelightRoom is growing at an absolute breakneck pace right now. If you're someone who wants to run alongside us in this incredible momentum, I highly encourage you to take on the challenge.
